S a l e s P r o  Frequently Asked Questions

1) Do I need a copy of FileMaker Pro to use SalesPro?

NO! As an official developer of FileMaker Pro, we can compile the program so that FileMaker is not needed and you can run the program without purchasing a copy of FileMaker Pro.

2) What system requirements are needed to run SalesPro?

Check out system requirements on our requirements page.

3) Is the Program Year 2000 Compliant?

YES!

Note: If you import / transfer data from a non-complaint program that stores it's dates using 2 letters designations (1/1/00) instead of the proper 4 letter designations (1/1/2000) you may need to use the replace command to convert your data. This is only an issue if any of your data is in the range 1/1/00 to 12/31/00.

More information can be found at FileMaker Pro's site http://www.filemaker.com/about/year2000directory.html.

4) What is your support policy?

Maintenance updates are available free from our web site. Maintenance updates include bug fixes and minor enhancements to the program.

When a newer version arrives with increased functionality (for example payroll capabilities (slated for inclusion 7/1/99), you will need to pay for these increased capabilities if you desire to have them.

5) Is customization available to fine tune the program further to my business needs?

YES! Our programmers can add additional features, if desired, at a rate of $110/hr. (A firm quote will be provided before the work begins).

YES! Use the report button on the main menu.

12) How many inventory items, customers, invoices can I have before speed becomes a problem.

The system will run on any 68020 (1989) or better Macintosh system, but a PowerPC is strongly recommended (some smaller systems, a few thousand invoices, customers and items, performs adequately on a quadra (68040 machine). On any G3 or iMac Macintosh, the system performs extremely well with up to 100,000 customers, invoices or inventory items. On slower machines, or above 100,000 records, performance will still be good in most aspects, but reports may take several minutes to run.

YES! If desired.

14) What happens when multiple people are using SalesPro?

If person A is editing invoice 1273, person B can see the information but can not change it until person A is finished with invoice 1273. However, person C can be editing invoice 1274 at the same time person A is editing invoice 1273.
